Keeping it simple

I love it when the things we plan for finally are achieved. One of our main goals here is to keep things simple, as simple as we can....lane ways are a part of that. Good horses and quiet cattle are the other main ingredients.

At the end of November the last big project, a lane way to the steer paddocks was completed. This not only makes it simple for us, it makes it even easier for the cattle. In drier times it is already a big job to get them in, in the wet however when the channels are full, they baulk at the first couple every time. Not good for animal or horseman to have to be under pressure constantly. Instinctively though the cattle know where to cross so with that in mind the lane way we he built goes into a big V so they can make their way around this nob/jump up in the land.

My brother helping us out for the day, teaching Drewe how to tie the wire to the post.

And clearly the bull was most surprised to not be able to walk that way anymore.

Another job done and dusted!
