Another year, the CQ Carcase Classic has been and gone...this is our 3rd year of entries, first year we received a 3rd. This year we took out 1st prize in the single steer category 300-420kg category.
with this big guy....392kg, Fat Depth 12mm, Rib Fat 15mm, EMA (eye muscle area) 101cm, Fat distribution 7, Fat colour 4, Marbling 4 with a total of 152.88 points.
This led to Reserve Champion Carcase...
What we have learnt: until we measured we were flying blind, breeding this article is hard work, takes patience and results from buying good bulls and having productive breeders!
It's a good feeling to have a vision, set and stick to your goals, reinforce the positive, ignore the negative and achieve a certain level of success.
